Tracy Letts has written a powerful character study about the seedy
side of life, and is filled with violence, revenge, hate,
greed, sex, and humor. Somehow, Mr. Letts has taken the worst in
humans, put it on stage, and has sprinkled humor through the
violence.
A trailer-park take on Double Indemnity, this plot brings out the
worst in everyone. Chris Smith needs to kill his thieving mother to
get her life insurance. He hires Killer Joe, a crooked cop, to get
the job done, and pulls his loser father, sexpot stepmother and
off-kilter sister into the scheme.
Note: This play contains some sex, violence, and nude content, and
is recommended for those who are eighteen years of age and older.
